Baby Jogger Glider Board Review: Make room for two

The Baby Jogger Glider Board is a stand-on platform that allows an older child to stand and ride along, while the younger child is in the stroller seat. It works with most Baby Jogger strollers (see compatibility list). It is designed to carry children up to 45 pounds. See price on Amazon.

Baby Jogger Glider Board: Review

The Baby Jogger Glider Board easily attaches to the rear axle of most BabyJogger strollers (single as well as double) and provides adequate space for an older child to ride along on the baby’s stroller.

  1. Compatible List
  2. This stroller board is compatible with City Mini 2, City Mini 2 Double, City Mini GT2, City Mini GT2 Double, City Select, City Select 2 and City Select LUX strollers

So it will really not work with other stroller boards?
The baby jogger glider board works perfectly with most Baby Jogger strollers, however, stroller users of other brands have raised some issues about it not working with their strollers.

If you use this glider board with other brands, you could come face-to-face with the stroller handle, so you have to be a bit careful when outdoors.

Every time you hit a big bump, s/he might tip forward and hit the handle. That is something that you need to be careful about when using the board with strollers from other brands, in which case, make sure your child is old enough to stand on the board and is taller than the stroller handle.

Works with a double stroller but doesn’t offer a lot of adjustments for the double
You can attach it to a Baby Jogger double stroller but it doesn’t offer a lot of adjustments. So with the glider board attached, you cannot fold it up, and nor does it store well with the board attached.

Adjust the stroller handle position
Most parents keep the baby jogger stroller handle in the highest position so that their little one is able to get a clear view ahead.

Parents of city select (comes with a telescoping handle) raise the stroller handle so that their child has his/her head between the stroller and the handle.

Kids can either hold the handle or the back of the stroller; some kids put their head through the handle (which is fun for them).

Here’s a video that shows how to attach the Baby Jogger glider board to a stroller

Here are the main features of the Baby Jogger Glider Board:

  1. Can hold children up to 45 lbs
  2. Attaches easily to the rear axle of your stroller
  3. Adjustable in height and length from the stroller
  4. Has a non-slip surface so that the child has a better grip
  5. Glider board stows against stroller frame when not in use, folds easily even when attached to the stroller
  6. Smaller kids can even sit on it (rather than stand) and hold onto the cross bar in front

  • PROS: Easily foldable, sturdy
  • CONS: Works only with Baby Jogger brand strollers (specifically the city/summit series strollers)
  • Restrictions: Do not use while jogging. Weight limit 45 lbs.

Overall, the Baby Jogger Glider Board is a sturdy stroller board that easily lets an additional child hitch a ride and doesn’t require you to get a double stroller. The baby jogger stroller glider board works smoothly on most surfaces, is easy to attach to the stroller, and folds away nicely when not in use. It’s great for short trips outdoors, a wonderful product to keep your kids entertained through day-long excursions.

  • some of the things that we don't like

    1) The handle bar of the stroller is all up in my toddlers face, even when the glider board is in its most far back setting.
    2) It makes it hard to reach the handle bar (and I'm 5'9") of my city mini GT and makes it hard to steer.
    3) I keep kicking the wheel of the glider board when walking. Which hurts when you're in flip flops
    4) you have to take the wheels off in order to fold the stroller.

  • Don't understand why many think its compatible with the Baby Jogger Stroller. It doesn't fit as the place where the brakes attach is where the glider is supposed to attach.

  • For me, the board comes too out and so I have to bend forward awkwardly to push the stroller. My son loves it though. Would have preferred something slimmer.

  • Hello all, Has anyone used the Glider Board with the Summit X3 and if yes would you have an opinion positive/negative about it?
