Top tips to save money on your dream stroller

Top tips to save money on your dream stroller, the model that you really want and desire. While you do get inexpensive models, the ones with more features and customizations are expensive. And you may have to plan for its purchase well in advance.

When you start looking for a stroller, not only are there several options, you soon start realizing that the ones that you really like are more expensive than what you had originally anticipated. And in many cases, parents end up settling for something less. Unfortunately, it seems people have forgotten how to go about saving, thanks to the increased usage of credit cards.

So, here we suggest some definite ways on how to save enough money to fund the stroller you want. Here are the money-saving tips.

Buy at Consignment Stores

A Consignment store is where you get used (second-hand) products, and that is why these products are priced a lot cheaper. Most consignment stores ensure that the products are not too old or worn out or extensively damaged. You will find a variety of products at such stores, including strollers as well.

Shop at Garage Sales

A Garage sale (sale of used goods by private individuals) is another place where you could end up buying a decent stroller or a low price. Usually, garage sales are good for buying clothes and other household items, but you should definitely visit the one in your local community; you just might get lucky.

Buy Used Items Online

You can buy almost everything online nowadays, and it’s not different for used strollers as well. Check out websites like Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Amazon, eBay to buy secondhand brand name items at reduced prices. You may be able to find gently used strollers at a fraction of the cost on these sites.

Wait for sales

Major retailers often have sales on baby gear, including strollers. Keep an eye out for promotions and discount codes.

You may also consider buying the stroller during off-season, such as during the winter months, when retailers are more likely to clear out their inventory.

Check with Family Members & Close Friends

Check with your family members, or close friends, if someone has a stroller that they no longer require. Babies and toddlers outgrow their baby products very fast, and most of them actually hardly get used.

So be open to asking in your immediate circle of family of friends. If not stroller, you may find other useful baby products that your babies could use, and use the money saved to fund a new stroller.

Consider a Basic Model

You may really not need that high-end stroller costing several hundreds of dollars. If you are clear about the features that you need, and do not mind compromising on the other bells and whistles, basic models can be found for much less.

Just Save for the Stroller You Desire

Lastly, just use the tried and tested method – putting a little money away every time you are paid. This method requires some patience but it works. Just start with whatever amount you are comfortable with, and when the time comes for buying a stroller, you will be glad you saved money this way.

I often use this method to buy/fund things that seem expensive to buy outright, and this method has worked every single time for me like a charm.

So for example, if you want to buy a good jogging stroller or a nice double stroller, you may have to shell out close to $400 to $500. So assuming you save $50 per month, you will be able to fund you dream stroller in around 8 to 10 months.

The only downside to this method is that you will need to plan well in advance. You will need to have some idea about what stroller you want, a few months in advance.

Closing Thoughts

Remember the saying “If there is a will there is a way”? Give some thought to how you plan to fund your stroller purchase and you will start getting ideas. The suggestions listed here are just a few ways to save money that will help you buy the best baby stroller (or any baby product) for you. Remember to start planning well in advance.
