Stroller Warranty FAQs: Why you should register your stroller

Stroller Warranty FAQs: By registering your stroller, it becomes easier to get your stroller repaired or replaced using the warranty, you also receive offers and information about product recalls or new accessories.

Almost strollers come with a warranty (1-year, 2-year or more) which is applicable from your date of purchase.

The warranty is usually against material used, manufacturing parts, and defects in workmanship. So, manufacturing faults related to the chassis, seat frames, plastic seat parts, and wheels are usually covered.

Submit a Claim

If your stroller is under the warranty period and has a fault, you can visit the manufacturer website and file a warranty claim. Make sure you keep your proof of purchase safe, as you may need to show at the time of claim.

If your claim is determined to be valid, any replacement part or replacement product offered is usually at the discretion of the manufacturer, based on the type of product returned and the availability of replacement parts, styles, models, colors and patterns.

What is not covered by Warranty?

A warranty usually does not cover the following.

  • Normal wear and tear due to prolonged use.
  • Damage due to accident (including lost/stolen products), abuse or neglect, due to improper storage/care of the product
  • If the stroller purchased is second hand or from an unauthorised reseller (such as eBAY, Gumtree, etc)
  • Corrosion or rust on the wheels and chassis due to environmental conditions, including high humidity, salt spray, ice or snow, or even due to lack of maintenance
  • Incorrect assembly, or installation of a third party part or accessory that is not compatible with the original design
  • Damage to fabrics (natural breakdown of colors and materials) as a result of normal handling and daily use over a period of time
  • When the product has not been used for its original purpose, and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions
  • If the product has been dismantled, or if repair or modification has been carried out by an unauthorised party
  • Airline/Transport damage: You should carefully check your stroller/car seat after it has been handled by the airline (or other transporters), and in case of damage, you should submit the claim directly to the airline/transporter.
  • Buyers dissatisfaction in terms of disliking the fit, functionality, color or style
  • If the serial number has been removed or damaged.

Register Your Product

If you’ve bought a new stroller or car seat, make sure you register the product (you can do it through the company’s website) as soon as you get it.

Usually, it has to be done within 3 months, but its best to do it as soon as you buy the product.

Warranty claims are smoother and handled comparatively faster when you’ve registered your product. So if any stroller part needs to be changed/replaced, the company will do it at the earliest.

The warranty period usually varies, depending on the company, but a period of 24 months is common. Also, the warranties are usually specific to the company from where you have purchased.
