Why Inflate Stroller Tire

Lot of parents/caretakers don’t check whether there is sufficient air in the baby stroller tires.

A well filled stroller tire will offer your baby a smoother ride and allow the stroller to perform at its optimum point.

What we have observed is that most parents don’t clearly understand how to properly inflate a strollers’ tire.

Here’s more on how to do that correctly.

Have the Right Tools

Here’s what you need to inflate the stroller tires.

You will need an air pump, gloves, inflator. You will need the right stroller air pump; in most cases, bike pumps will fit in stroller valves too.

There are different types of pumps, inflators, tubes, tires, and valves. Keep that in mind before starting.

Get the Right Head (for the Right Valve)

Depending on what type of valve the stroller tire has, you may require a specific pump head for its inflation. There are two basic types of valve head you can use – Schrader-pump-head or the Presta valve tube.

There are lot of air pumps that have a dual pump head attachment, or if you’re sure which valve your stroller tire uses, you may get the appropriate pump for your stroller (Schrader or Presta).

How to Inflate Stroller Tires

There are times when the stroller tires will have less air in them, and they will need to be inflated in order to have a smoother ride. However, pumping air in the stroller tire may not be as simple as you think

There are many who pump air into the tire with their pump, but the tires just won’t inflate. That is because on most strollers, you need to press a locking lever in order to allow the air to pass into the tyre.

Most stroller tires have a lever next to the hole (valve) from where the air comes in and goes out. Once you attach the pump to the air valve on the tire, you need to lift the lever. Doing this allows the air to flow through into the tire. Once you’re finished pumping air, and the tires are inflated, you need to lower the lever back to its original position, and remove the pump.
