As parents, children’s safety remains top priority, especially when they’re in a stroller, high chair, or car seat. A 5-point safety strap belt gives peace of mind, while offering a versatile solution to keep your child snugly secured.
Introduction
Safety harness/restraint system is an important feature of a stroller, and as parents, you must ensure the stroller comes equipped with the best kind of restraint system.
These are easy to put on, and keep the baby safe. You can choose from a 3-Point or 5-Point harness as mentioned in the guide below.
Earlier, three-point seat-belts were more common; these belts circle the waist and come up between the legs. However, most strollers nowadays come with a 5-point harness (at least the best ones do).
If you are looking for a jogging stroller, you should make sure the stroller has a five-point restraint system (shoulder straps) since running will result in your child being bounced around. The shoulder belts will keep them in place comfortably even when jogging, and the buckle is also comfortable against the child.
Most of these restraint system/straps are universal.
Besides working on baby strollers, these replacement straps harness can also be used for most high chairs, wagons, outdoor swing, children tricycle, electric car and bicycle baby seat.
These harnesses are easy to install, the clips secure the straps firmly to the stroller, the buckle is easy to open and close.
5-Point Harness/Safety Belt
Most recent strollers come with a 5-point harness but in the past, strollers came with 3-point safety belts as well.
A 5 point (includes shoulder harness) whereas a 3-point includes only the lap harness (5-point harness costs more but offers better safety.
A 5-point harness system secures your child across their shoulders, hips, and between their legs, providing comprehensive protection. It consists of five straps – two at the shoulders, two at the hips, and one at the crotch that all connect together via a buckle release mechanism.

This design ensures that in the event of a sudden stop or impact, the belt “catches” your child and keeps them safely in place.

The 3-point harness makes the stroller lighter, but only marginally. However, its easier for kids to get out of it as a three-point harness doesn’t have the shoulder straps (Smart kids figure out a way to climb out of it).
